Faith and Chris Simmons

Faith Simmons – Children’s Pastor

I was born in Richmond, VA and grew up in Gloucester, VA with parents whose prayers have shaped the person I am today.

I have been married to my amazing husband, Chris Simmons since the age of 18. He’s also my best friend. We have four awesome kids, Austin, Esther, Kyle and Trinity.

You could say my adventures in children’s ministry began at the age of 13, when I served as a Jr. Leader to my then Children’s Pastor, Ken Cramer at Lighthouse Worship Center in Gloucester, VA. He trained me in puppets, outreach, drama and leadership and allowed me to be part of a missions team on a trip to Mexico – my first missions trip. I had no idea at the time that God was grooming me for what the future held.

I have served in many capacities within children’s ministry since the age of 18 and had the privilege of holding my first position as Children’s Pastor within the church I grew up in. I also held the Children’s Pastor as well as Discipleship Pastor roles at Abundant Life Church in Stephens City and feel I was able to grow in my gifts and calling while serving at that church.

I have studied ministry through Global University and have recently obtained my ministerial license through the Assemblies of God International Fellowship.

In my free time, I love to spend time with my family rummaging through antique stores and yard sales, going to the movies, or just jumping in the car to explore a new area we have never been to before. The days without an agenda seem to hold the most fun!

One thing that most people don’t know about me: I am considered an introvert. I didn’t realize this about myself until taking a personality test recently. It seems with introverts, we get a refill of energy by spending time alone or in very small groups like with the family as opposed to being around a lot of people. Crowds make me uncomfortable. I enjoy being on “country time”.

Three People I would like to meet living or dead:

  1. Elijah
  2. Jentezen Franklin
  3. Tim Hawkins

Favorite Food: Indian Food (Especially Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken)
